About
World Eating Disorders Action is a dedicated global platform provided to deliver reliable, evidence-based eating disorders information to the public. Our mission is to unify individuals and organizations across the globe for World Eating Disorders Action Day on June 2nd. This significant day serves as a catalyst for stimulating healthy dialogue, breaking the long-standing stigma surrounding eating disorders, and encouraging vital policy changes. By bringing together individuals, families and professionals, we strive to ensure that everyone touched by eating disorders has access to the support and resources they need. Through advocacy and international collaboration, we are building a more compassionate world and fostering lasting systemic change for mental health services globally.

Rouhana El Hage
As a Lebanese man, a reminder: eating disorders don’t discriminate….by gender or nationality. Healing is a process, scientifically proven and achievable. It doesn’t take a day off. For me, moderation is key.

Forum 15.3 & 2.6, Italy
Umberto Nizzoli
Dr Umberto Nizzoli is the founder of the Italian version of World Eating Disorders Action Day. “From the energy of WEDAD, Forum 15.3&2.6 was born in Italy. Same values, same mission with more than 40 family associations and professional societies spread knowledge and rights on EDs throughout the year.” In his words, “Everyone needs respect and love.”

Clinical Psychologist, Arab Eating Disorders Association (AEDA)
Dr. Carine el Khazen Hadati
As the founder of AEDA and a longstanding voice in advancing eating disorder care in the Middle East for over two decades, World Eating Disorders Action Day is a powerful moment of global, cross-cultural alignment. Its collective efforts actively contribute to our mission — strengthening awareness, access to evidence-based, culturally sensitive care, and reinforcing my ongoing commitment to driving this field forward in the region.
